Ионные жидкости (ИЖ) - низкотемпературные расплавы солей, как правило, образованных органическим объемным катионом типа алкиламмония, алкилимидазолия, алкилпиридиния и др. и неорганическим (реже органическим) объемным анионом, например, Вр4~, РРб", СРзБОг", (CFзS02)2N" и др. - представляют собой новый класс растворителей, электролитов и каталитически активных сред. Химия ИЖ активно развивается на протяжении последнего десятилетия, что подтверждается числом публикаций, посвященных ИЖ, выросшем с нескольких сотен в 2000 году до нескольких десятков тысяч в 2010 году. Актуальность этой области обусловлена использованием ИЖ в различных отраслях. Одной из ключевых сфер применения ИЖ является так называемая область «зеленой химии». ИЖ удовлетворяют известным принципам «зеленой химии», сформулированным П. Анастасом, и уже используются как замена токсичных и летучих промышленных растворителей. Ключевые принципы этой области химии: не столько уничтожать загрязнители, поступающие в окружающую среду, сколько не допускать их образования в химических процессах путем замены существующих способов получения химических продуктов на новые. К настоящему времени найдено большое число других применений ИЖ помимо их использования в качестве растворителей в процессах органического синтеза и синтеза наноматериалов или электролитов в литиевых аккумуляторах, например, их использование в устройстве лунного телескопа с жидким зеркалом, в качестве материалов для хранения водорода и других газов (ВР3, ИРз), а также взрывчатых веществ и ракетных топлив. До недавнего времени считалось, что ИЖ невозможно испарить и измерить давление пара при нормальных условиях. Однако в 2005 году это предположение было опровергнуто и было показано, что ИЖ можно испарить. В том же году были опубликованы первые результаты измерения давления пара ИЖ. Изучение газовой фазы ИЖ и механизма ее образования является первостепенной задачей, решение которой позволит улучшить производительность технологических процессов с участием ИЖ. С помощью теоретических и экспериментальных методов для ограниченного числа ИЖ было доказано, что их газовая фаза состоит из нейтральных ионных пар (НИП).
Физико-химические характеристики ИЖ представляют большой интерес, так как их знание позволяет подбирать ИЖ под конкретное применение. Одной из важнейших термодинамических характеристик ИЖ является энтальпия испарения, измерение которой представляет определенные экспериментальные сложности, так как требуются экстремальные условия (высокая температура и низкое давление). Полученные экспериментальные значения энтальпий испарений представляют большую ценность для моделирования термодинамических характеристик ИЖ. Такие промышленные процессы как разделение и хранение газов, а также катализ, требуют знания структуры и химии поверхности ИЖ на молекулярном уровне. Для изучения поверхности применяются различные экспериментальные и теоретические методы, некоторые из которых технически трудновыполнимы и дорогостояши.
Целью диссертационной работы является изучение состава газовой фазы ИЖ, измерение и математическое моделирование энтальпий испарения ИЖ и исследование взаимодействия молекул воды с поверхностью ИЖ. Научная новизна заключается в следующих положениях: исследована газовая фаза новых образцов ИЖ, включающих в себя металлсодержащие ионы; для всех образцов получены значения энтальпий испарения; впервые изучена адсорбция и десорбция молекул газа с поверхности жидкости. Обзор литературы представляет собой введение в химию ИЖ и включает в себя обзор имеющихся публикаций по теме работы. Теория использованных методов (температурно-программированная десорбция (ТПД) и line of sight масс-спектрометрия (LOSMS), измерения коэффициента прилипания (S), т.е. скорости десорбции и скорости адсорбции) приведена в Главе 2. Описание экспериментальных установок и использованных методик представлено в Главе 3. Результаты исследования газовой фазы ИЖ с использованием методов ТПД и LOSMS рассмотрены в Главе 4. Было обнаружено, что газовая фаза всех изученных ИЖ состоит из нейтральных ионных пар (НИП). Энергии ионизации ионных пар и фрагментов ИЖ, а также механизмы фрагментации, обсуждены в Главе 5. Исходя из полученных энергий ионизации, был сделан вывод, что наибольшее влияние на них оказывает анион. Энтальпии испарения (AvapH) всех изученных ИЖ были вычислены и сравнены со значениями, полученными другими методами. Глава 6 посвящена изучению адсорбции воды на поверхности ИЖ в вакууме, что является первым подобным исследованием адсорбции молекул газа на поверхность жидкости путем измерения коэффициента прилипания. В этой главе представлено обсуждение результатов измерения коэффициента прилипания. Адсорбция и десорбция молекул ИЖ с поверхности ИЖ изучены с помощью метода LOSMC. Полученные данные показали наличие «ионного подслоя» на поверхности ИЖ, состоящего из катионов и анионов.

Выводы
1. Состав газовой фазы, образующейся при испарении пятнадцати различных ионных жидкостей (ИЖ), исследован методами line of sight масс-спектрометрии и температурно-программируемой десорбции. Показано, что ИЖ могут быть испарены без разложения, изучена термодинамика испарения. Установлено, что газовая фаза ранее не изученных ИЖ состоит из нейтральных ионных пар. Важная термодинамическая характеристика, изменение энтальпии испарения (ДуарН), вычислена для всех образцов ИЖ. Предложен несложный теоретический метод вычисления ДуарН, для которого необходимо учитывать только значение плотности ИЖ.
2. Механизмы фрагментации различных рядов ИЖ установлены с помощью измерения энергии ионизации фрагментов ионов ИЖ. На основе полученных значений показано, что не все фрагменты образуются непосредственно из ионов ИЖ. Механизм фрагментации ряда ИЖ, например имидазолиевых, определяется структурой аниона.
3. Взаимодействия молекул воды с поверхностью ИЖ изучены методом измерения коэффициента прилипания в температурном интервале от 100 до 300 К. Установлено, что при температурах выше точки стеклования ИЖ абсорбируют НгО. При температурах, близких к точке стеклования, молекулы Н20 отражаются от поверхности ИЖ. И наконец, ниже температуры точки стеклования молекулы НгО формируют многослойную структуру льда на поверхности изученных ИЖ. С помощью коэффициента прилипания показано, что абсорбция воды является активированной, вычислены соответствующие энергетические барьеры.
4. Изучен механизм десорбции молекул воды с поверхности ИЖ. Показано, что процесс десорбции монослоев воды имеет первый порядок, а для многослойной структуры льда — нулевой порядок. Десорбции молекул НгО из «ионного подслоя» не наблюдалась при использовании метода масс-спектрометрии. Это объясняется тем, что молекулы НгО дифундируют из этого подслоя в основную массу ИЖ, а не десорбируются в газовую фазу.
